Works great for making all kinds of custom serial interfaces.I used to use the 'build your own' / configurable db-9 . They were easy for the 1st use, but a pain to pull pins and re-configureThe screw terminals on this unit make it perfect for easy reconfiguration.

I needed to create a special serial cable (null modem between very old TRS80 MC-10 and PC USB serial port) and it just worked! I like that the wired connections are made using those terminal blocks with screws so that if I made a mistake, I could correct it without soldering. Really nice invention.
