Ti permette di coprire e rendere liscio al tatto una sezione del barilotto del 40-150 2.8, una volta rimosso il collare per treppiedi che viene fornito in origine. In questo modo si alleggerisce di un po' il peso, e l'utilizzo è più confortevole. Costa un po' per essere un semplice anello (e la casa madre avrebbe potuto includerlo), tuttavia si può comunque usare il teleobbiettivo senza di esso, se si vuole risparmiare.

This ring covers that studs that guide the tripod clamp on the Olympus 40-150mm, f/2.8 lens for handheld shooting. I only use a tripod for static testing so the DR-66 is on the lens nearly all the time. The lens is much more comfortable to hold with the DR-66 in place.

Olympus plastic accessories always seem a bit expensive, but this one works well, so is worth the cost.Needs a bit of force to click into place on the lens, (to ensure the dots line up).Removal of the tripod mount, saves a bit of weight, and makes the lens more manageable.(I also replaced the lens hood on my 40-150 lens with a Canon EW-78B II hood, lighter and more robust)
