I picked this lens up for a bargain price and honestly, it’s great value – especially when you consider you can find it even cheaper second-hand. That said, I prefer buying things brand new, as I tend to keep and use my gear for a long time. So it made sense for me.What I love about it:• The size is hands-down the best part. It’s super light, compact, and easy to carry.• It’s what some would call plastic fantastic – yes, it’s not premium, but it does the job.• It’s not a fast lens by any means, but on a bright, sunny day, it delivers decent results.• Most importantly, I knew exactly what I was getting and bought it for what it is – a handy, lightweight telephoto I can carry without fuss.I can’t even imagine lugging around a full-frame 300mm lens all day – it just doesn’t make sense for casual walks. This lens is a brilliant compromise for that kind of use. My full-frame 300mm has spent about 70% of its life in a bag over the last five years… meanwhile, this little one happily joins me on a walk.No regrets at all – it’s a practical, everyday telephoto that’s easy to live with.
