I love this mat. It is so helpful for removing hooks without harming the fish on stony ground or a sandy beach. It is perfect for catch-and-release.

I purchased this mat solely for my ultra light lure fishing exploits. It is very light and the right size to enable species such as perch, chub and small pike to be placed on therefore providing adequate protection from rough ground. The mat does not necessarily have to be thick for these size of fish just big enough to aid a quick unhooking procedure and a safe, swift return. It rolls up compactly and is attached to my carryall. The size and weight is negligible and does not interfere with my fishing whatsoever. Overall, very well made and totally appropriate for this style of fishing. Any other fishing applications like for instance carp , large tench and bream and bigger pike will certainly require a much larger, thicker unhooking mat. Very happy with this purchase. Thank you.

I’ve purchased this mat for my son who’s only 5 years old and really enjoys coming fishing with me, it’s absolutely perfect for what he needs it’s lightweight and clips onto his little bag perfectly. He can’t wait to get out and use it now.
