The case is metal, pretty solid indeed. Kit is complete of psu and screwdriver. Big BUT: I find it unbelievable that to fit a normal, 3.5" hdd in it I have to literally modify it. There is a (glued) foam protection on the far end of the case (which it would be a good thing) that simply prevents a very common Seagate Barracuda to fit in. You can force it, yes, and the case will sort of close, but you'll see a small creep on the back (and you don't really want to stress the sata port like that). So, I have to make a change to it, voiding the warranty, just to use it. I can't send it back now and I am stuck, but it is quite bad indeed. If you are comfy into "breaking" it, it might be a good fit for you

Hatte zuvor auch ein Alu gehäuse für die Platte was am Anfang normal erschien aber beim Versuch eine 1 Tb Image Datei meiner Micro SD Karte zu zu kopieren brach fiese nach ca. 3 Minuten ab.Mit diesen Gehäuse kopierte die Datei mit konstanten 200 MB/sek in ca. einer guten Stunde ohne Probleme zu machen mit einer maximalen Temperatur von maximal 45 Grad (gemessen mit Crystal Disk Info).Hatte vorher von der gleichen Firma ein Plastikgehäuse und kam auf 50 Grad ,natürlich auch nach langen Kopiergang.Zur Geräuschentwicklung kann ich sagen das sie nicht laut ist ,und wenn man allgemein die externen Hdds direkt auf den Tisch oder Kasten stellt übertragt sich das ganze natürlich.Habe da 2 oder 3 weisse Reiningsschwämme unterlegt und sie schnurt wie ein Kätzchen.Alles im allen ein gutes Gehäuse

Overall build quality feels OK for the price and I like the fact that casing is metal. When plugged into a high speed USB-port, speeds seem to be close to hard drives max spec speeds. I like the fact that case uses USB-C port, as I already have a few of those lying around. Initially I thought that my hard drive is very loud, but then I discovered that squeezing the case with fingers reduced the noise dramatically. I reinstalled the hdd with thin thermal pads applied to all sides (except top), and now it runs much more silently.
