There is a general effort from backpack manufacturers, whether they are in the outdoors or in the "designer-high end" industry, to convince us that they they offer an amazing product. The feeling is that there is always something missing.I've bought mid or high-level designer backpacks, which cost a fortune, but I had to return them the next day. When it comes to them they design travel backpacks but the effort put in the design of the back straps or the material used ended up delivering a product that resembled more like a backpack offered for free with every subscription at the local gym. Supposedly high quality leather or fabric with X, Y, Z top notch quality element and once you reach the straps you can fold them with your two fingers because they are made of cheap nylon and have some carton and cheap foam inside.Then you go to outdoor companies that produce travel backpacks which are the result of years of experience. In the case of Osprey the products are of solid quality. The straps are fantastic, the nylon is great, the zippers and pulls as they should be, but there is always something missing. It took Osprey years and years to realise that you can't put the laptop sleeve at the front, because when the clothes and shoes in the main compartment fill the rather curved front of the backpack, they push against the flat surface of the laptop, threatening to damage it. After years they managed to create a laptop sleeve that takes some of the internal space, but at least it has some padding for protection.And now think. You are a traveller or commuter. You carry your passport, your keys, your wallet, a pen or two, the chargers of your laptop; phone; earphones, a powerbank, some change, maybe a small box with medication, and a small notepad. Big question! Our dear Osprey, where can we put those things in the backpack when there is no organisational pouch? Do your designers put all these in their pockets, do they carry a second pouch-bag, do they just throw them somewhere in the backpack and when they're asked for their passport or need a charger etc. start looking into the abyss of the pack? Hopefully it will not take years and years this time to redesign the backpack so that it will have some common sense features, because otherwise it's of great quality and your customer service beats many competitors.

Ok, so I am very confused. I borrowed the Osprey Farpoint 40 from a friend recently and liked it so much that I decided to purchase my own here on Amazon. Well, it just arrived, and it is certainly not the same as the one I borrowed from my friend. It seems that the entire front pocket which includes a laptop sleeve is missing! There is only one giant pocket with no compartmentalization and certainly nowhere to put things like a laptop, wires, etc. It would honestly be rather useless as a travel bag. Anyway, the other reviews on here seem good so maybe I was sent a wrong or defective bag. Who knows.

j'ai commandé comme présenté dans le descriptif un sac à dos noir ... mais j'en ai reçu un bleu ! Vraiment déçue mais pas le temps de le retourner avant son utilisation très proche.

Amazing comfort. I had few bags in the past and they were not as comfortable as this bag. Same weight different feeling. This bag made it feel like there was nothing on my back. It was amazing how much difference a well designed bag can improve your comfort. btw this was with no waist strap on or chest strap. The only thing I would point out is that they need to find a way to fixate the waist belt when not needed and make it easier for people to put on the bag. Not a big issue but I wish there was a clip on bottom side of the corners where you back touches so that I can clip the waist strap on opposite side to stow away and get it away from getting in the way. Man... I am in love with this bag. I only wish that they had royal blue color with ferrari red inner lining. That and these two fixes and it would be a perfect bag. seriously. I am so happy with my purchase although I paid like $300 for this bag.
