The only reason this is not 5 stars is because it arrived missing one of the screws for the on-bike attachment. The on bike attachment is also rather useless for such a hefty lock, but maybe this is just my bias as I can only get one strap to lock due to a missing screw. Not sure how to resolve this.However, WOW! This is LOUD!i can safely say only the profoundly deaf would enjoy wrestling with this hunk of a lock while it screams at you. Seriously.fire alarms never hurt so bad as this. I adore it.

Great lock with built in alarm from a trusted and reputable company. The alarm can be easily activated/deactivated using one of three keys provided. Great idea to scare off would be thieves. Comes with a cradle to attach to your bike. Alarm is VERY loud too. Just what I wanted. Excellent price too!

I love that this has an alarm. Bike thefts in my city are on the rise, and this lock certainly makes me feel like my bike is more secure. However, simply the motion of maneuvering it to get the key in the lock will set off warning beeps. I can’t use the mounting hardware because if it’s in the locked position, the bumps on the road will set the alarm off. I have to keep the pieces separate in a bag and then lock once I’ve arrived at my destination. I’m worried it gets set off if other people shake the bike rack getting their bike out. Again, great idea for the product and I feel my bike is safer for it, but I have to give it 3 stars because of the ridiculous sensitivity.

It's a perfectly good lock, but the alarm function is more irritating than useful. It isn't particularly loud or attention-grabbing, and it goes off after a couple of seconds.More annoyingly, this lock is in many ways tied to the bike that has the mount on it, because the lock beeps when it encounters all kinds of movement unless it's firmly in the mount. So, when you carry the lock around on your bike, it has to be mounted on the mount that it comes with, otherwise it beeps when your bike goes over any kind of bump. That means you can only practically use the lock on the bike that has the mount. Every time I get my bike serviced and they give me a courtesy bike, I can't carry the lock around and use it for the courtesy bike - it beeps all the time because it's not sitting in the mount.
