This is a sturdy lock which serves as a deterrent to would be thieves. My bike is usually garaged at home so I don't always set the alarm - it can be set to lock without. That said, the alarm is very loud if used!

After purchasing this lock I can say for functionality it is great however I feel that it can be a pain at times.If you live in a place that is prone to rain no matter how hard you try, water will stll get in and after it gets in if you depress the button to lock it the alarm starts to chip as if it wants to go off.I use this on my bike when out and about and it certainly puts my mind at ease however there has been times where I cant use the alarm due to it constantly chirping.Good mechanical lock, not so great for the alarm feature.

Does the job it's supposed to ( wakes me and scares off the toe-rags) unfortunately the gap is a little too narrow for the brake disc on my classic bike so have hidden it as a motion sensor alarm.

I own three Oxford products and all of them are absolute garbage.This lock specifically has issues with the lock cylinder not opening correctly, the alarm starts screaming like a choking baby if left out in the cold too much (no condensation, no rain on the device itself, covered by a tarp), even when the lock is unlocked. The plastic top can easily be bumped off and the alarm mechanism exposed.
