PAINTING MINIATURES FROM A TO Z ANGEL GIRALDEZ MASTERCLASS VOLUME 1

If you have just one book to buy to up your game on miniature painting (especially in the SCI-FI range or where there is a lot of armor) then this is the SECOND book you should buy. The first is Angel's Painting Miniatures from A to Z VOLUME 2. Volume 2 will help you moh-bettah level up your game. Volume 2 has better rundown on mixing paints for the airbrush, materials, etc. Volume 1 (this book) is a GREAT book right out of the gate and is rich with technique and some close-ups of detail work to get that Infinity look. But it has some knowledge gaps that are just filled nicely in Volume 2. I very highly recommend both books as they are both really great, but if you are going to start with one, then pony-up for VOLUME 2 first! OR - buy them both together and be joyful that you did as you will not be disappointed. GAME ON!

I don't know the answer to that, and it's entirely subjective.Don't go into this book looking for "basics", you're going to need a pretty solid painting background before even starting.However, it's a pretty handy reference to see these models painted step by step, to this level of skill.Now if you're the kind of person who likes physical copies of books want a hard copy book to keep on your shelf, then this is a pretty cool book to have. However... you can find step by step tutorials online, so if owning the book isn't that important to you? Well, make your choice.Now, is it worth $100? I'm gonna say... not... really? There's no denying Mr. Giraldez' talent, and I am one who enjoys holding a book in his hands, but I am going to say that it's overpriced.I'm happy with it. I like it. But I paid too much, and I know it.

Este libro sobre pintura de miniaturas es excelente. Conceptos claros bien explicados. Viene acompañado de una figura de regalo, algo que no sabía y que me agradó enormemente.

I didn't catch it in the description, but this edition includes a small model of Joan of Arc. by Infinity. Very cool ! First, I've been a modeler since the 1970's. With that said, there is an amazing amount of information and techniques in this book to keep you busy and fired up to paint some figures. I have always had trouble with faces and some other minor aspects of figures, but this book covers them all. It also covers mechs, women, and monsters. No color is out of bounds. Green, blues, red, orange, all of them come to life.Note that on the back of the book, it says it is limited to 5000 copies. So if ever wanted a book on painting figures, you better get it now. You will never regret it. If this book doesn't kick your painting up a few notches, nothing will !
