So they actually save space. If you notice how the rings are attached you'll find that they are alternating in direction. This design is super efficient at space saving as it doesn't cause my shirts to bulk up sideways when they are layered on top of one another. I'm not sure if I'm doing any justice to the description of my experience but surely you'll understand better when you try to hang some items for yourself. I highly recommend this product. If I could add anything, I'd throw in a removable hook to the end, but I find looping it onto a hanger works as well.

I really like these multi-hangers storage hanger, they can hang up to 10 hangers each. I like to hang some clothing on the back of my door. These multi-hangers are brilliant for that use.As well as being good for hanging clothing up in wardrobes as a good space saver. But if the wardrobes aren't very tall, and you like to store other things at the bottom of them. It will hang into the bottom of it, taking up space with clothing on it. They can be used anywhere, though, like I can hang it on my shower curtain pole, to hang a few damp clothes to air/ line dry on them, too.They're metal with a silicone end for extra grip on poles/doors. They're medium thickness, strong and durable, too.
