It's always important to have a spare battery when you're out and about making a home video. Coupled with the supplied battery of the same size, this proved to be up to the job.Sure there are larger batteries available, but I did find that for my current needs, this small battery was up to the job. Both the original and this last about an hour and a half for continuous recording. In practise, with stopping and starting and with the LCD panel being used, you should be able to get an hour's footage with lots of small clips with each battery. Actual performance will vary depending on what you do.I also bought an Ex-Pro charger so that one battery can be charged whilst I'm using the other. Of course it would be useful to be near a power source if you are using this, but the one I bought allows for various options, including a car's 12v socket.
