This cat carrier is a clever design. To be able to have so much space available when needed and yet have it pack away so small shows some thought went into the planning of all the folds, zippers and wires.Wires, I say? Yes, those foldout extra "rooms" on the side are supported by some flexible wire inside the fabric. And those wires have just enough memory that with some minor encouragement they keep the little side rooms from folding in on themselves when kitty is trying to get in there. But when the time comes to push it all back together into the carrying bag shape, they're flexible enough to get out of the way.Here's where this bag would shine: First, on a plane ride where you'll be staying somewhere with your cat for one or more days but aren't able to let it out all the time. Because of the way this opens up, you're at least providing some room for the cat to move around and perhaps put food and water in one of the little "rooms".The other great use might be if you need to take your cat on a car ride that's a bit longer than usual. Having this open on the backseat might help keep your cat from freaking out due to tight spaces. I know it helped our cat immensely in that regard.In any case, if that sounds like something your cat might be facing, I can recommend that you consider this carrier.
