This device arrives in an easy to recycle plastic bag. Unfortunately “easily recyclable” isn’t something you can say for the actual handle themselves. Something you might want to do rather quickly after trying these out.While the strap is reasonably long, it might not be long enough for someone with a larger tummy. especially if they are wearing a padded jacket with a spine board. Though my next issues with this are much more simple and concerning.If you have to accelerate quickly, for example to avoid other traffic, and your pillion isn't paying attention, there's a good chance they might pull you backwards. Which could cause you to let go of the handlebars. Now in fairness that could happen what they've got their arms around you, but with this thing they are literally attached to you.Which brings to my second concern. If you and your pillion do ever need to detach from the bike your pillion can get their hands caught in this. So when you come off, you're going to crash joined together. Which probably won't be much fun.Another, admittedly lesser, issue is your pillion needs to be able to get their arms all the way around you to reach the handles. Something a really short pillion passenger might struggle to do. Something that's especially true for children and teenagers.Short or small people will be pressed up hard against you. As well as being uncomfortable for both of you it can also mean your helmets will be pressing together. Helmets that could knock against each other, causing a distraction and possible damage.Overall ? Yes it's an interesting concept and that might be suitable for some people. But for us it just felt unsafe. That all this would achieve for us would be a unfunny quick way of ending up in the emergency room. Hence the three stars.
