Worked great on the coil springs of my C20 truck. Had to cut the length of the threads to make it work but that’s not the tools fault, just happend to interfere with the cross member. Keeps you safe and makes the job easier!

Worked great on the old and new additions in my 87 GN, needed to add a pipe because if the way g body top mounts are there is no hole to pass through, but worked amazing, a tool I can trust. Don't forget to lube the threads before using!!!

This does what it is supposed to do. It takes some patience because inner spring compressors are a bit tricky. Follow all safety procedures, compressed springs are very dangerous. I had to use an iron pipe spacer to make it shorter and some hardened washers. Oil the threads!. The pipe spacer I added was about 4 inches and made the top stick out of the shock tower which made things easier. I used jacks and a lift to raise and lower the car and control arm to align the spring perch to remove /put in new spring. Oil the threads, use hardened washers if you have to add a washer. Worked fine.

My husband is writing this......I used this today and this is absolutely useless for car springs as I just found out. I bought this to change a broken rear spring on and Audi A5. The hinged hooks seem like a good idea but after they hook on and you start tightening you get no compression until the hooks are almost in a vertical position. And by this time, the two centres are almost touching so you have very little stroke to work with. You'd want to be compressing a spring almost three feet long for it to be effective. Such a disappointment, I even had to cut about 5 inches off the bolt because it was hitting the car body first before I discovered the issue with the hook design. If I could give negative stars I would give it -3
