It worked out of the box on my M1 Macbook Air when I connected it through a hub.This keyboard's backlight is lit all the time except when the laptop is asleep or off.Not sure if it can be configured through MacOS settings but it doesn't bother me and I'm happy with this keyboard so far. It's very compact and still has important functions like HOME, END, PAGE UP, and PAGE DOWN. The keyboard layout is perfect. It doesn't have those annoying characters. The backlight is well lit and you won't have problems typing at night.Don't expect a mechanical feel when you type though. But the keys are not noisy which is perfect for offices and when you work at night.Overall, I'm very happy with this keyboard. No problems at all. Especially useful when you have limited desk space.

I'm tough on laptop keyboards. I don't know why because I buy only Lenovo computers and they're supposed to be the best. For the past couple weeks, the "R" key has stopped working properly on my Thinkpad. So I bought this little guy and just now hooked it up. Works great. Placed it directly on the laptop's keyboard. It's backlit which is a nice feature. I'm working in a well-lit room but I decided to leave the backlight on. It actually helps. If your laptop keyboard is getting buggy, buy this little guy.

Excellent keyboard. Probably the best I ever used. Every key pad is controlled and there is a sure feel.This is real backlit keyboard. Everything else at this price bracket fully glow killing the contrast that is important for working in less light. No fatigue whatsoever.The overall size is truly small but keypads are pretty much big like a full key board.Absolutely silent and key depression is very very limited making it almost a stealth killer.No jazzy stupid colorful light on the keyboard.i bought and returned one as my ey was hurting with breathing light will messy glow from the keyboard.If you are not a gamer and there is serious work in hand, just go for it, you won’t regret.This is my personal opinion.There was no extra packing from amazon side, which is a bit disappointing, but never mind thats my opinion.Good luck.
