This is a basic guitar strap no extra stitching or suede backing but a nice small comfy neck pad.I bit a wax or oil would soften the leather and stop crackingDo note the lenght I think this is short for an adult guitar strap I am 5’ 7” inches and just fits my acoustic but no use for the electric as I like it lower.Nice small strap easy to get in case just cover those buckles
