My dog is in love with this toy. And it has held up. However, the rubber material gets extremely slobbery which makes it difficult to hold and throw—which is the only reason why I didn’t give it 5 stars.

Our dog loves these toys and has most of them. It has quite a strong squeak!

As a connoisseur of all things squeaky my miniature dachshund has come close (but not quite enough) to meeting his match with Petface’s fruit and veg collection. He can destroy almost anything in minutes if not seconds, and trying to extract the squeaky bit is where he starts.Petface seem to take special care with this part and these fruits have resisted destruction longer than many others. However, a sticky-up leaf or stalk soon provides enough purchase to puncture then rip the latex. This orange, whilst now slightly deflated, has survived for weeks, probably because it gets slippery enough to evade the jaws of a small dog - a bigger dog might find the job easier. Annoyingly it still squeaks - loudly - but at least we know the dog hasn’t chewed it out yet.For information, the orange is about large grapefruit size, soft but surprisingly resilient to chewing, and wipeable. Downsides: very loud if accidentally trodden on at 6am, and contains the ubiquitous fluffy polyester that most such toys have, so beware if the orange succumbs.This orange might just possibly put up a good fight with other similar dogs, so worth a try, and not too expensive as an experiment. And the broccoli comes a close second.
