I have thrashed my nylon sling in ways it wasn't originally intended. It has been used as a tie down for a truck bed in a pinch, had knots tied in it to make a climbing personal anchor, and wrapped around a tree limb to rappel rope off the tree. Still holding up great and showing minimal signs of wear.
