The Puegot Brésil gives a nice robust quality look and feel, but that is all that it's good for; looking and feeling. I bought mine roughly 6 months ago, believing it to be as good as was promised by the manufacturer, who gives a limited life time warranty for the thing. After having used it for some time - fiddling around with the hard-to-wrap-your-head-around grind size mechanism to try and find the right settings - I still hadn't found a consistent setting, and I soon realized why. The grinding mechanism itself is as wiggly and unreliable as a cheap 20$ grinder, and it produces a terribly inconsistent grind. On a medium setting I'm measuring a difference of 6mm between the largest pieces and the smallest. Utterly unacceptable. For the finest setting though it grinds very consistently due to the self-stabilizing nature of the mechanism - the finer the setting the tighter the mechanism, hence less wiggle room. I'm currently trying to file a complaint and for Amazon to accept my return for this item, but it is proving to be as hard to achieve as it is for Jeff to take "worker's rights" in his mouth.

The grinder is old-school stylish, adjustable to whatever grind is best for your equipment (as it comes it was perfect for my moca pot) and though the physicality of cranking the handle is a bit of a shock first thing in the morning, I’m a believer that the absence of heat generation from an electric grinder makes the effort worthwhile.

Review: Peugeot Coffee Grinder – A Timeless ClassicThe Peugeot Coffee Grinder, originally designed in 1840, is a true testament to craftsmanship and durability. Made from solid hardwood, this grinder exudes vintage charm while delivering exceptional performance.Design & Build QualityThe grinder features a sturdy wooden body with a small drawer to collect freshly ground coffee. The manual crank handle adds to its old-world appeal, allowing users to experience the traditional art of coffee grinding. Peugeot’s commitment to quality is evident in the lifetime warranty on the steel burrs, ensuring long-lasting precision.Grinding PerformanceOne of the standout features of this grinder is its adjustable grind settings, allowing users to achieve anything from coarse to ultra-fine coffee grounds. However, on the finest setting, turning the crank requires considerable effort, but the result is perfectly ground coffee with an exceptional texture and flavor.Final VerdictFor coffee enthusiasts who appreciate heritage design and superior craftsmanship, the Peugeot Coffee Grinder is a must-have. While it demands manual effort, the reward is a rich, aromatic coffee experience that modern electric grinders often fail to replicate.

Fit and finish is amazing. The grind mechanism is a oddly inconsistent though. In the design the grinding ball is suspended over a ceramic cone which funnels the grind into the drawer below. Unfortunately the gap varies as you grind so the granules also vary.
