Deze Hue draadloze dimmer aangeschaft bij de aankoop van 3 Hue GU10 lampen voor de kamer van mijn zoon. Doordat hij een stapelbed heeft en de gewone schakelaar van de kamer bij de deur zat was er de noodzaak om het licht te kunnen bedienen naast het bed op hoogte.I.p.v. een kabel te trekken naar het bed hebben wij voor dit systeem gekozen als oplossing, dit omdat wij Hue ook al op meerdere andere plekken in het huis toepassen inclusief Bridge.In de HUE range is dit product dus een uitkomst en werkt in een woord geweldig.Het is plug en play en zeer makkelijk in de bediening, zowel via de bridge maar ook gewoon direct via de app.De bijgeleverde grondplaat met de magneet houder voor de schakelaar is direct ergens op de muur te plakken met de plak strips die al aanwezig zijn op de plaat, maar ook te monteren op de bestaande lichtschakelaar van de kamer door deze te verwijderen en hiervoor deze plaat i.p.v. te monteren (hierbij moet je dan wel de oude schakelaar uit de inbouwdoos verwijderen en de draden doorverbinden). Wij hebben ervoor gekozen op de grondplaat naast de bestaande schakelaar te plakken en de gewone schakelaar op ingeschakeld te zetten, zodat de lampen op deze manier een constante spanning hebben. Aan en uit schakelen is immers niet meer nodig want je kan nu zowel met je telefoon via de app als met de draadloze schakelaar de lampen bedienen en deze schakelaar kan je als een afstandsbediening overal mee naar toenemen. Zelfs is deze op andere plakken van metaal, doormiddel van de magneet die verwerkt is in de Hue schakelaar, te bevestigen (zie ook foto's).De schakelaar zelf is zeer makkelijk in gebruik en buiten dat hij ze aan en uit zet kan je er ook mee dimmen en eventueel de kleurtemperatuur van de lampen mee aanpassen (moeten het natuurlijk wel lampen zijn met verschillende kleurtemperaturen (Kelvin) instellingen zoals Hue color en Hue White ambiance).

We use these with Alexa for home automation when not using voice. We control them directly from Alexa rather than via the Hue app skill integration.

We already had the v1 one version and this new one looks a bit nicer. We use it a lot. We placed at somewhere in the center of our living room, and with one click all lights go on. We don't use the other functions much. Sometimes to dim the lights a bit a noon.

Works okay as long as your wifi is stable. The Philips Hue app is always slow and not very stable, but the hardware is really good. I really liked the old design for this better, this looks like it will get dirty easily.

For people who look to replace their defunct v1 version, this is a good replacement. If you want to activate the v2 on older v1 devices, make sure you hold it very close to the light, otherwise it won't work, activate the remote.

I bought 3 hue switches, one of them stopped working after just 8 months of usage. Impossible to open battery case.

Was setting up hue lights for client's kitchen, I have like 30+ hue lights at home so I have a bridge. The clients don't really care about the bridge they just wanted good lights so I was trying to pair the lights with the remote only. I got this v2 one because it specifically said it will work. At first try I couldn't get it to work because I was using the app to pair it. On the instruction it actually has the section showing how to pair without bridge and you just pair it by placing the remote close to the lightstrip or bulb and hold the button it will pair and work. Love it.
