I wanted to create some personalised flags for a 60th birthday celebration next year and these are going to be perfect. At 180cm by 60 cm they are plenty large enough and with the 4 metal washers at the 4 corners will hang in the celebration room as a focal point for the decorations. The banners are made from polyester which means it is possible to use iron-on vinyl to personalise them. They are nice and sturdy, not too thin and should drape well. I look forward to spending some time on the personalised elements and seeing the guest of honours face when the flags are unfurled.

At just 70 grams apiece these banners are incredibly thin and light, but they should easily stand up to the job of providing handmade signage pointing towards parking, a party, whatever.Perfect for those "happy birthday" banners tethered to a footbridge, they even come with the cord to tie them on with!

Blank canvases to let you design your own. These are a ok size for stools etc. The canvas is a little thinner then what i expected but still does the intended job well.

This twin pack of canvas banners arrives folded in a easy to recycle plastic bag. Or more accurately it's 2 bits of a lightweight polyester like material that's heavily creased, which needs to be flatten out before using them. Something that I did by leaving it overnight under a pile of heavy books.Once flat is when you notice the thin surface might struggle to accept paint. A surface that could possibly let light through. So you could, as one review correctly noted, use gesso to add an extra layer to stop light and give it a primer. However if that gesso layer is too thick, it will highlight another possible issue with any canvas that will be folded up. Especially if you paint with thick paint layers, the paint could crack when folded up.Though this isn't a product flaw, it's something that happens with any flattened canvases. So I chose to give the banner a quick spray of acrylic car primer before painting. While this form of paint isn't totally crack resistant, it can be mildly flexible and being a spray it doesn't create a heavy layer of paint. So it can reduce cracking to some degree, though ultimately all paintings when folded up.The solution is to either leave your paintings flat or roll the canvas up around a cardboard tube (not supplied). Either way once primed it's a nice material to work on, though it can move around. So it's worth tieing it to your table or working surface.Something that's easy to do with the ribbon like rope that's included with the canvases. Rope that's good enough to tie this to things like fences or trees after you've finished painting. Overall ? Despite potential issues with folding the canvas, this is a great product especially given how large each canvas is.Which, when you compare size to price, makes this excellent value.A product that's suitable for so many different spaces and purposes.
