The PILOT Frixion Rollerball pen is a reworking of a classic Pilot pen style. It has a chunky body that is easy to hold, despite its smooth finish. It’s a reworking in the name of the environment as it introduces refills into a very affordable pen model. The kit included one pen in the body when it arrived and 3 refills. Unlike its predecessors the ink here is erasable and the top of the pen has a small eraser to let you do just that – it’s only a few mm across so it’s best for adjusting the odd word; or line in a diagram than planning to wipe out large blocks of text.Swapping the pen out of the body is easy as it unscrews at the top of the pen grip and it’s easy to drop in a new refill.The pen writes as you would expect from a pilot rollerball. This one is a 0.7mm which is great for writing, there is a 0.5mm which is good for drawing diagrams. The Frixion writes smoothly with free-flowing ink. It dries out quickly on the page; and doesn’t bleed through on 80gm/m2 paper.
