I am not at all pleased that the things I love are coming into fashion. It seems I am not by any means the only one to seek the comforts of a traditional dining room now. Traditional is all the rage now and I must admit there is a lovely feeling to sitting down to a meal that reminds us of family mealtimes long ago. if you happen to looking for ways to brighten up the room, while keeping a vintage feel, these may be just the ticket.This set is made of a good thick cork with a heat resistant wipe clean surface. I must confess, I did not purchase these for their traditional purpose as place settings. I bought them to cover damage on a small mahogany drinks table. They do the job beautifully, even giving my tea cups a better grip should the table get jostled. I use two for the drinks table, leaving two spares which add a lovely splash of colour to the dining room table and more importantly protect my dark would from heat from my casserole dishes. I do place dishes directly from the oven on to these. The cork back insulates and protects my table from damage, while the smooth surface makes for easy clean up of any splashed foods on the outside of the dishes.If you wish to use these for their proper use, as place settings, please be aware there are only 4, and once a full sized dinner plate is placed on these, you won't even know they are there. If you want a subtle look, while protecting wood finishes, especially dark woods which mark so easily, then this is a perfect choice. If you want room for used utensils though and something which is still clearly visible after templates are laid out, you may find a rectangle mat more suitable. I think these are perfect to place casseroles or dishes in the centre of a large table, or as individual place settings for a smaller table, especially the small round tables where the larger rectangle mats really do look out of place.

Pimpernel e portmeirion insieme sono una garanzia!Ne avevo già uno singolo, pagato più della metà di questo set da 4.Li uso, più che come placemat (preferisco i rettangolari sotto il piatto) come centrotavola, per appoggiare bottiglie, brocche, salire ecc. Comodo e decorativo! Non è però adatto come sottopentola/piatti bollenti, credo proprio che si rovinerebbe subito.

Joli et pratique, seul B-Moll, j'ai mal estimé le diamètre. Les sets sont un peu petits.

L’oggetto è bello peccato che la descrizione sia fuorviante in quanto è riportato di 34 cm di diametro mentre in realtà è di 31.
