I really like this for getting my table saw arbor aligned to within a thou (.001"/.025mm) parallel to the miter slots and then aligning the rip fence. You still need to mark a spot on the edge and rotate the disc from front to back to cancel out any runout, but being able to slide the indicator (I like a test indicator for this job, not a dial indicator) from front to back without hanging up on any blade slots or whatever makes the job go a lot faster and more predictably. Surface finish is a little rough to the touch but is more than good enough for the job.

How maddening. You wait a week to get this "calibration" disk and the arbor hole is undersized to the point where you can mount it to the saw. I needed this to calibrate my miter saw for a job that starts Wednesday. Can I do that? No. Should this $30+ disk be this incredibly worthless? No! Am I pissed off? You bet!!
