This Unit is listed as a 'Large Tackle Box' (generally intended for Fishing Tackle). However, due to it's many magnificent design features (Thanks to Plano's Design Team), this unit is also extremely well suited for vast diverse varieties of Duties and/or Hobbies.As for my own situation: Recently I decided to follow the Bob Ross Style of Landscape Painting. The first step was "Acquiring All The Necessary Brushes & Paints". Bob Ross Landscape Painting basically focuses on using 14 Tube-Colors. A 'Small Set' starts with 37ml Tubes, whereas the larger Tubes are 200ml.So okay, you don't have to be a Nuclear Physicist to realize that "Keeping All This Corralled" - namely: A Mix of Big-Brushes, Little-Brushes & Fan-Brushes, Palette Knives, 14-Tubes of Paint,,,, then the 2 Jars of Liquid White & Liquid Clear) will quickly become somewhat of a nightmare. I've eyeballed many different "Art Boxes" intended for this purpose, and they ALL came up 'Short' (in my considered opinion). Some of them might 'fit the bill' if you are Painting with Water Colors. But Ross Style Painting is all based on "Oil Paints", and their properties are very different from Water Colors.Coincidentally, it just so happens that THIS particular 'Large Tackle Box' has 2 of 3 Drawers which have '14 Separate Long Slots'. (of course, these have means for partitions, but I needed the entire 'Long Slot'). Also Coincidental, a Large 200ml Tube of Bob Ross Paint 'Fits Perfectly' into Any One of these Tray Slots; (ref: photos)(2 Tubes are the Large 200ml size).Also Coincidental: The Upper-Most Tray is perfect for storing GOBS of Fan Brushes. And the Lower 'Well' is Large enough and Deep enough to easily Swallow all the other larger Brushes and Palette Knives, as well as the 2 Jars of Liquid White and Liquid Clear.Frankly Speaking, it's as if the Design Team at Plano had Bob Ross Painters 'In Mind' when they designed 'This Unit'. It is So PERFECTLY Suited for This particular use.A Super-Handy Feature: It is So Well Designed that the Drawers can be Opened while the rest of the unit remains 'Latched'.I took a gamble on purchasing this for my purposes,,, not 'knowing' ANY Real dimensions. I got Lucky. It is a Smashing Success!Here's a Tip: The Drawers MAY be a wee-bit 'tight' and tend to 'stick'. This will make the Drawers Glide with Ease: Remove the Drawers one at a time, then Shave away any Plastic Flashing (if present). Then Rub a stick of Paraffin Wax along the Drawer's Plastic Side Rails,,, giving each Rail a light Coating of Paraffin Wax. Then re-insert the Tray into the Box's Glide Mechanism,, (should make a "Click" when Seated properly).Now, since there were NO references as to any 'Usable Measurements' of this Unit, much less 'accurate measurements',,, I will provide some 'approximates'. (The listing I saw stated dimensions were 1"x1"x1")(yeah-right,,, Plano is marketing a "1-inch Cube Tackle-box").Overal Unit Exterior Measurements (includes Hinges / Latches):20-1/4" Wide X 12-1/2" Front-to-Back X 12" Tall.Approximate Tray Measurements:Entire Tray: 13-1/2" Wide X 9" Front-to-Back X 1-7/8" Deep.Individual Tray Slots (2 Lower Trays):6 ea Slots measuring approx 1-3/4" Wide X 8-7/8" Front-to-Back X 1-7/8" Deep.1 ea Center Slot measuring approx 2-11/16" Wide X 8-7/8" Front-to-Back.Approx Measurements for Lower Well:15-3/4" W X 10-1/2" Front-to-Back X 4-5/8" High (or 'Deep').

this is a great tackle box-its really large in size.there is alot of room in these boxes to fit stuff in. but its organized really well.
