Bought this to use for icing a friend's wedding cake, with the hope of using it to smooth the sides and also lift cakes into position. Have yet to test it out (will update when I do if anything changes) but initial impressions - it's sturdy and quite stiff so I think it will cope with a 10" quite well for lifting. The flat part is a little short and so won't cover the whole of the cake top if bigger than a 6" cake, but should be manageable. Get a bigger one if you want to smooth the top in one go.Handle well attached, smooth, and comfortable. All in all, a good palette knife.
