The problem is that the tray is made of cheap, flimsy plastic that isn't heat-resistant.According to the description, the tray is made of durable plastic. That's not true.In reality, the tray is made of non-heat-resistant, flimsy plastic, which you can easily bend with your bare hands.This plastic tray melts when touched by hot lids, hot spoons and hot sauces and other hot foodstuffs dripping from the spoons.The tray should be made of the same heat-resistant iron material as the rack or silicone material.Moreover, the rack is too low and, therefore, only suitable for small lids.As one reviewer pointed out, this item is nice for keeping cooking books open when cooking!That's the only purpose I recommend it for!

this little kid holder and spoon rest is a great size and really quite sturdy. Would buy again.

Wouldn't ever be without this now, it holds my recipe books open and has room for spoons still, even though that's not it's purpose, it does a great job with pan lids too.

Just what I wanted

I use this all the time and no longer have pot lids which get stuck to the counter (until they cool off long enough to self release).
