I specifically use this to give a harder wearing finish to vinyl paints. Modern vinyls can be used in place of other paints for painting things like radiators, doors and so on, but needs a coat of this varnish to make it harder wearing and less prone to marking. That way you can get a perfect colour match for radiators cupboard doors and so on without having to resort to trying to get paints specially mixed up to match.Unlike most varnishes, this stuff dries on top of emulsion, leaving a highly transparent finish. No doubt there are other varnishes that will do the job, but I have tried many and none are as good as this stuff. It leaves a perfect finish first time.DO NOT USE IT ON CHEAP MATT. Very porous paints will change colour. You must use it on a quality paint ( for example, on Dulux washable matt, not ordinary Dulux matt.A little goes a long way. Brush or roller it's very easy to apply, and you probably need less than you think.Bear in mind this is water based, so a bad idea to use it on veneered doors. It can cause delamination. Don't even think about it! Use OSMO Door Oil or similar.Highly recommended.

Too bad it's so expensive! Need to find a US based alternative.Two coats gave a fair amount of protection but three coats really "sealed" the deal :)

Excellent flat matt varnish I’ve used it on kitchen chairs & they are still perfect Easy to use with a brush, roller or sponge & it’s solid once dry
