Have used it for safety when climbing mast on my boat works well. But a bit awkward to put on correctly but at first but after initial use all falls into place and easy and quick

This is *probably* pretty good. However, the reason that I'm marking it way down here, is because very little is explained, leaving the user baffled as to many aspects of its correct usage. The instructions that should tell you how to put it on do not actually cover this model! The drawings are almost completely useless and labelled in an incomplete way.Without being fully trained, you simply don't know how everything should be adjusted and why. I put it on eventually and adjusted it, as per what instructions I could see and use, but mostly according to the photos that are on the box. However, two things were immediately apparent, or just plain puzzling. Maybe if I could be bothered to get into all the ton of regulation codes that they print on the paper that they supply with it, I might somehow be able to make sense of it, but that shouldn't need to be the case. The first issue is that if you don't adjust it correctly, the chest buckle would smash your windpipe! This is a pretty easy mistake to make too and it is only because I decided to slowly add weight on the harness that I could see that this would happen, before it became a serious accident. The second thing is, what is the unhelpfully and oddly-named 'O-ring' (item 13 in the FP18RER section of the page) for and how is it used? You see it in this picture, as the two lowest black flaps that stick out.I searched on YouTube and on Google, but could find no answers to this, so either nobody else has bought one without full professional training, or Portwest's SEO is very poor, but I could find no help on their site either, so I think they must have simply assumed that everybody would know intuitively, somehow. We all know what assumption is the mother of...Portwest deserve a really bad review like this, because they didn't put in sufficient effort to ensure that customers would know how to use their product correctly and safely. This is safety gear, so manufacturers need to explain how to use it properly in a really, really clear and uncomplicated manner. Including a few tiny, poorly visible drawings, that have obviously not been fully checked through to see if they really work or not, on a piece of folded paper and not explaining the pitfalls and dangers fully, is totally unacceptable. It would be disingenuous of them to claim that they did, with the inclusion of the aforementioned codes too.In short, if this will be purchased by a qualified H&S professional, who can give full training with it, then buy this, because the quality seems to be very good (it is why it got two stars, instead of one) and this is what will probably matter. However, if you don't know how to use this correctly, then with what they give you, you could end up injuring, or even killing yourself. This product could mean the difference between life and death, but Portwest have not taken the customer training aspect seriously, at all.
