They keep me dry, but trap the moisture from my sweat so intensely that whatever I'm wearing gets wet anyways

You'll see some reviews that say they're not waterproof or resistant because their pants underneath were wet. I had the same issue but it was not due to water. One day i realized that it traps heat inside and makes whatever you're wearing underneath, damp. I like them a lot to protect from splashing concrete. My only complaint is the crotch area hangs too low and is uncomfortable when trying to maneuver in certain positions.
