Good fit: 4 stars initially as I have yet to use them in the field and now 5 stars - see update.. Well made and I feel they should do the job for slash wounds not sure about direct puncture/bite wounds. They are not filliting chainmail/knife gloves designed for chefs, but are a good all round protection,extra layer of material between the skin and raxor sharp teeth. But are no subsitute for careful responsible handling of all fish, a wet small 'beer/pub' towel is always a useful item to have to hand. UPDATE (OCT 2015): I have now used them extensively in the field have increased my rating to 5 stars. My main use has been as thumb protection when trapping the line at the end of a cast on a free spool reel to prevent line bird nests (sea fishing). Also used when handling perch (freshwater). Excellent protection against abrasive skin of saltwater shark species (dogfish). The gloves give good tactile feelings and general warmth against the elements. Fully waterproof and easy to clean-just place in washing machine (40C) and tumble dry.

But the pike still managed to get me right through them ,so not 100% protection

Hält was er verspricht. Guter Grip bei der Handlandung.Der Handschuh sitzt auch sehr bequem und sicher.Vorsicht bei Raubfischzähnen! Mein letzter Hecht mit ca. 50cm Länge "zerfetzte" den Handschuh, aber ich möchte nicht wissen, wie meine Hände ohne Handschuh ausgesehen hätten.Im kalten Gewässer nicht geeignet, da der Handschuh nicht wasserresistent ist somit sofort durchnässt ist!
