Have tried other, cheaper mantles but had problems with size and quality. Put one of these on a small primus gas lamp and got it to fit perfectly after 'breaking' it in. Although it seemed expensive for just 3, they work.

I do not know what harm Thorium does to the environment or the person who has to mount it on his/her lantern. They look like a quality product and will probably do what they are supposed to do. I will let you all know if they do not.
