it’s not really gaffer tape. it’s cheap fabric tape with awful adhesive properties.compared with actual gaffer tape, it’s got a hold strength of 1/10, it tears badly leaving stringy bits everywhere.if you want tape that will actually hold, i’d go for brand-name stuff like 3m. i regret not spending the extra on better quality stuff.

This is Duct Tape not Gaffer Tape. The two key differences between these tapes have to do with the tape's backing/carrier and adhesive. Gaffers tape is a vinyl-coated cloth tape with a matte finish, so it doesn't reflect light. By contrast, duct tape is polyethylene-coated cloth, which makes it shinier. This product is later.
