PROSTAFF P7 10X42

Have bought these for our cruise in June this year. They seem to be excellent quality with my little use so far

Love this for distance viewing. I use my 8x42 for birding in the forest. I use this for prairie birding or shore birding. Brings the subject right in front of you. Really crisp and brilliant!

Quality is awesome , worth buying.

The outside of these have a soft grippy rubber coating for protection and the focusing wheel is super smooth and precise.. a thing of beauty. The eye cups are adjustable for those that wear glasses and have a positive 'click' when turning. They also have a locking diopter ring.. a feature often missing on more expensive bins.Optically, the Nikon P7's are superior to the P3 line as they use dielectric coatings on the prisms which improve light transmission that result in a brighter image. I was amazed how much detail I could resolve in dark shadows with these. There is some chromatic aberration (blue fringe) when viewing dark objects against light backgrounds but it's minimal and not very noticeable. The Field of View is impressive for a 10x42.. it's almost as wide as their 8x42 bins.The only downer is the cheap end caps that pop-off way too easily and will probably get lost. Amazon carry Svbony caps which are a good replacement and fit snugly.Very happy overall with these.
