I take my laptop to and from work everyday. The plugging in and unplugging of the cables was a nightmare. bI have numerous docking stations for my laptop, but not one I could use to switch between my laptop and desktop. Those other stations all have the same issue with my laptop. They would support multiple monitors but all would give me the same message saying that my laptop was charging slowly and to replace the charger. My only recourse was to plug the charger straight into my laptop. Now I get no charging errors with this docking station and my laptop charges quickly, actually just as fast as if it were plugged into directly to my power supply. But best of all now I can easily switch between laptop and desktop without skipping a beat.Another big plus . . . anytime I would connect my phone via USB to my laptop or desktop to transfer files, I would get an error message "slow charging please check to make sure cable is attached properly". I always considered it a nuisance message. Using the docking station's usb (PD + 15 W), I no longer get this message and my phone charges normally. Transfers go smoothly and my phone charges even with both systems powered down.

Die KVM Dockingstation kam ordentlich verpackt mit dem nötigen Zubehör, wie beispielsweise 2 HDMI-Kabeln.An sich ist die Box edel mit stabilen Metallrahmen und gläsern wirkenden Buchsenabdeckungen verarbeitet. Keine scharfen Kanten, die Kabel besitzen einen ordentlichen, jedoch nicht zu festen Sitz und der Taster besitzt einen angenehmen Druckpunkt.Das ebenfalls beiliegende Switch zum Umschalten wird per veralteten Mikro-USB verbunden, was wahrscheinlich einen fehlerhaften Anschluss vorbeugen soll, korrekt gewählt wurde der Standard jedoch nicht.Auch hätte man meiner persönlichen Meinung nach SUB für Maus + Tastatur gerne auf die Rückseite verfrachten können, was optisch mehr hergegeben hätte.Dennoch schmälert den optischen Eindruck nur minimal.Passend ist die Funktionalität. Ich habe einen Mini-PC fest angeschlossen und schalte ein HP-, sowie Lenovo Notebook wahlweise hinzu. Einfach auf dem Switch umschalten und es geht seicht über. Schaltet man zwischen den Geräten hin und her, so bleiben die Desktopsymbole an Ort und Stelle - so wie es sein soll. Keine Bild-Fehler, Flackern, oder sonstige Umschaltprobleme. Es funktioniert einfach mit zwei Monitoren, Maus und Tastatur. Parallel noch das Handy aufladen - toll.Beachtet werden sollte, dass die Dockingstation eine eigene Stromversorgung und die für das Notebook benötigt, welche einfach per zusätzlichen USB-C PD Netzteil bewerkstelligt wird. Wird das Notebook also nicht standardmäßig per USB-C aufgeladen, so kann man auch ein anderes PD USB-C Netzteil verwenden.

Die Dockingstation ist wirklich eine tolle Sache. Ich kann meinen Laptop und meinen Desktop ganz einfach umschalten und die Bildschirme und Peripheriegeräte nutzen, ohne ständig Kabel umstecken zu müssen. Die Bildqualität in 4K ist echt gut und die Schaltzeiten sind auch schnell. Das Aufladen meines Laptops über die Dockingstation funktioniert auch problemlos. Alles in allem bin ich wirklich zufrieden und kann die Dockingstation nur weiterempfehlen..

When traveling to other people’s studios and needing to “hook up” with their equipment this was a breeze to use. I could immediately set up onto their tower, set the choice switch up (PC1, PC2) and we could go back and forth during presentations with no problem. Set up time was a matter of seconds and it comes with its own power supply reducing the dman on your system. On the tower stations I could even use the expanded features for peripherals, giving a lot more flexibility when you consider how many USB ports a number of applications really do require you to have.The place I ran into issues was expansion on laptops. I’ve been attempting to use this on a Asus ROG Strix G Gaming Laptop, 17.3 and I’ve not been able to get it to work as a peripheral splitter – expansion for USB connections – which is the only drawback I’ve had. Not certain if this is a particular issue with this laptop. But on every other system I’ve used it with I’ve been able to fully utilize the ports.Fast set up, good price and a definite must for anyone who does any production work on the road or visiting others.
