Beautiful real ox hair brush. My husband uses it to apply finishes to his custom woodwork pieces. Worth it to prevent air bubbles in finishes like urethane.

This brush will serve you well, but little tip before use, wash the brush in warm soapy water a couple of times to remove any loose hairs. And to guarantee all the loose hairs are gone, Paint with what whatever stain or oil you’re about to use on a piece of cardboard, for any remaining loose hairs, and then you’re good to go. It’s a great brush, light weight, no brush marks, and leaves a beautiful finish.

Perfect brush for polyurethane on fir. My husband looked tirelessly for a good quality brush and this is finally the one

I have always steered away from buying "expensive" paint brushes (I know there are more expensive brushes out there, but this was expensive to me...), but I was resurfacing my Cherry kitchen cabinets and needed them to come out right. This brush (plus technique) made all the difference and I am now a believer. I thinned the polyurethane by 1/4 and put down 4 coats. Waiting 20 hours between coats in a 50-60 degree environment. I sanded very lightly between coats and the results were fantastic. Cleaning was easy if you just do it (I hate cleaning brushes). I give a lot of credit for my results to the quality of the brush. It held the thinned poly well and applied poly evenly without much pressure.

Holds lots of paint but not for finishing coat. Hairs fall out making what your painting full of hairs. Would be good for outside painting or staining where hairs wouldn’t matter
