⚡ The wires are a bit short for my purposes, but they should suit most projects. I found that I could bend the wires without impacting the reed inside, which is positive; these potted reeds are a lot better than the bare versions, as they are far more robust, and having just broken another bare glass version, I am sticking to the potted variety in the future. I am using them to make door contact sensors for home automation, and they work very well. They are very similar to those in my existing Zigbee door contact sensors.⚡ I have used them equally for side-on triggering, and the reeds trigger well. With strong magnets, they seem to trigger equally well end-on. I have made discrete door sensors that are drilled into the door frame using a 9-mm hole, and I encapsulated the reed in shrink tubing. My application is for home automation multi sensor boxes using an ESP8266, and I could get away without a pull-up resistor as the board has it built-in. In summary, these worked perfectly for my application to make some really small sensors that were easy to install and also discrete. I needed to de-bounce the activation by 10 milliseconds on the ESP board, but that was the only slight complexity. They work very well, and I would have no hesitation about buying them again. ✔️

Habe bisher immer Glaskontakte benutzt, leider sehr empfindlich gegen Glasbruch. Warum gibt es keine haltbarere durchsichtige Kunststoffröhrchen?
