Perfect for stripping paint off metal surfaces - I used these for removing the old paint from a bike fram. Tried sanding discs and wire brush discs beforehand, but they tend to remove the metal - these strip the paint and only leave the metal lightly marked (providing a slight key for the next lot of paint).The only watchout is that the can fragment a bit - chucking bits of the disc off every now and then, particularly under heavy use.Wear eye protection!
