Works perfect for my little workshop

This makes perfect 8mm plugs that can be glued and hammered in. I wasn't using a drill press and was fortunate my (JCB) hand drill chuck would open just enough for this bit.It can be a bit of a trick to get started by hand, as the bit will jump until it gets started.Was definitely a good purchase and enabled me to make plugs to strengthen a crack in a shelf.

Used this to create dowls from seasoned Oak. I cut at least 40 dowls, making sure not to over heat the bit and it was fine. I just put a file across it at the end to bring the edge back to a prickly finish.

I acquired this because I needed to cut 8mm plugs. Unfortunately its utility is limited because the 13mm shank is too large to fit in the typical router or drill chuck.
