I’ve used various hog rings pliers on farm: which means using hour after hour putting hundreds or thousands of hog rings through the pliers. These work very well. Comfortable, easy to use and jam/miss infrequently. But these are a disposable tool. They’ll not outlast a box of rings with the plastic magazine plunger quickly wearing so budget one pair of pliers every few thousand rings

I needed to attach chicken wire to some field fencing around my garden to keep the rabbits out. I could have used regular hog ring pliers, but the hog rings always get tangled, and ultimately take forever. The price here was right, and I could get small green hog rings which were less visible and more appropriate for my job. So what's not to like? Well, for starters, its business end has an excess of plastic. In order to fit into the holes in the chicken wire, I had to grind off a bunch on non-essential plastic. Not a big deal, but shouldn't have to do that. In using it I found it very prone to getting the hog rings jammed. Part of that was the job I was doing--had to push and pull and force the layers of wire to line up. That tended to contribute to multiple hog rings coming loose and not entering the jaws properly. And just FYI, I never could make it clip a vertical wire to a horizontal one--too much housing in the way of the jaws. I think that the green hog rings may not glue together as well as the silver ones do. Next time I will try silver ones and see if they resist jamming better. Despite the struggles it did the job faster and easier than one at a time would have been, I just wish it would have done better. If used where conditions were better, it should work fine.
