I Bought this display beacause I have a Very Old Raymarine Autopilot, the old display wasn't working very well so I wrote to Raymarine, they told me that this display was compatible with my old one. Great buy, I installed it yesterday Sunday 30, just plug and play, next week end I will tested on the sea. I'll let you know further information, so far so good

Perfect for Axiom upgarde

My old ST-4000 + auto helm system worked well for 18 years before the drive unit literally fell apart, I bought a new drive unit and the replacement was seamless. Unfortunately the control unit then failed. The replacement P70S was not compatible with the older compass and I had to purchase the EV-100 unit as well. Buying piecemeal cost more money. I would have done much better buying a package if I had known that's what I would need. Otherwise the P70S works great and installation was simple, using the existing holes. The display is colorful and bright. My only complaint is that since the unit is mounted on the side of the cockpit and the polarized display disappears when I lean forward to look at it. Some awkward body language is required to see it well. It would be better if the unit were mounted forward of the wheel instead. Overall, the new system from Raymarine is pricey, but is flexible and expandable allowing multiple control points and input sensors. Lots of bang for lots of bucks!

I much prefer this new model to the older model I have in the cockpit which I would only give 3 stars. What I find really annoying and dangerous is the standby and auto buttons which are very poorly lit at night and so small half sharing with another function. I nearly had a boating accident at night when I had to press standby in an emergency.
