This is an excellent instrument. Clear, in tune (especially the G which is so often sharp), lovely tone through two octaves, but not only is it excellent value for money, it has two features that all the other more expensive whistles don't have:The thumb rest is a genius addition, for beginners still learning to coordinate, or children who still have to stretch a bit.But I'd give six stars if I could, for the removable mouthpeice.The seller writes in the description that the mouthpeice can be removed for washing... blissfully unaware that this feature also makes the whistle's basic tuning slightly adjustable!! WIN WIN WIN! finally a whistle you can tune down a bit if playing almost entirely in the high octave, or push in to compensate for A440 / A442 - depending if you're playing north or south of the border, or in my case, in Europe. This basic adjustment makes a much more professional standard of playing possible, with a whistle that costs 10€. Can't believe my luck.Note of caution, I thought I could choose the colour, but I can't. The silver is a whistle in C, the black is a whistle in D. So I actually ordered the wrong one by mistake, but as you may note (pun intended) from the effusive review above, having tried the one that arrived, I was always going to order the other one anyway :-).(For anyone who is wondering about the difference, a C whistle is the right one to get if you want a sort of easy starter recorder - it's roughly the same size. Also good for playing with very easy piano - all the white notes. The D whistle is slightly smaller, and therefore easier for kids (6+). The D is also the more authentic instrument - that's the type played played in Celtic folk bands and Irish pubs, because a Violin (Fiddle) sounds great in D due to the open strings, and is easier to play)
