Do not purchase this camera unless you understand that Reolink will force you to subscribe to their view service. If you don’t you can’t see the live stream!It’s a complete con and it’s not made clear so you’re being mislead…I contacted Reolink support before buying this camera explaining my requirements, at no point did they tell me I would need to subscribe to their “view service”.My requirements were auto tracking, mains power, 4g network connection (I have no WiFi) and ability to view live stream when not at my workshop. ie when at home or on holiday. These needs are only met if you pay the Reolink subscription on top of also buying a data plan from your chosen 4g network provider.The camera itself seems well built but that’s where the positives end.The images are grainy/pixelated and you cannot read vehicle number plates, so it’s not fit for purpose.The auto tracking is useless, it will only follow you if you move in slow motion, otherwise you just walk straight out of view. Passing cars at 15mph just pass by without the camera even attempting to turn and follow. So in my situation with a private road (my road) passing my remotely located workshop, cars and people can just pass straight by the camera and it won’t follow! Registration numbers are unreadable.Because of the requirement of subscribing to “Reolink view service” you can’t watch footage back that’s recorded on the micro sd card, you need to remove the card and watch on your pc. This is a major problem if the camera is installed at height, which mine is, so access is by ladder. Reolink themselves recommend a height between 2 to 3 meters…On top of this it took me nearly 3 weeks to acquire a 4g network sim plan from O2 to finally get the camera working, only then to find out Reolink were going to force me to subscribe to their view service to view it! So it’s now past the free returns date on Amazon.So now I’m left with a 24 month data only contract with O2 that I won’t need if I return the camera! If I keep the camera I have to pay Reolink a further subscription to view it!!!Overall this camera purchase has caused me insecurity, anger and stress. It’s not given me any security at all and I wish I had never bought anything from Reolink!When I raised this issue on Reolinks community group, their moderator initially prevented me from replying, then blocked me from the group and removed any sign of me!!!
