I used the product to connect my old PC to my monitor, and for some time it worked really great. Of course it's a bit annoying to have some of the connectors on the back of the PC blocked/used (USB and auxillary), but all in all it worked like I expected. Then a couple of weeks of use, and one day the PC just shows on the screen with huge green spots and lines going all across. Checked it with another HDMI cable, still the same. Connected something else to the monitor so I could verify it's this adapter and no issues.0/10, should've spend some more for a better and probably more durable product

The product description is inaccurate, package contents:* Adapter with D-Sub (VGA) male connector* 3.5mm AUX cable* Micro-USB cable for powerNo HDMI cable, bring your own.-Due to overwhelmingly mixed reviews on VGA→HDMI converters I purchased two. Neither worked perfectly, but this has some greater problems unfortunately. When I connected it to my very old laptop running Linux (integrated Intel graphics), it would show this adapter as an "Unknown" display. I think as a result, I was only allowed to set 800x600 and 1024x768 resolutions. I have a 1080p monitor, this is obviously a bad result.Further, the audio quality is poor. I don't know if it's just my sample, but the converter apparently lacks proper isolation at the Analog-Digital-Converter (ADC). The noise was audible even at regular volume levels on the monitor, and very apparent at higher volumes. When I touched the 3.5mm tip with my finger, the noise it produced would change. Finally, the converters enclosure got warm during use. This is expected, inside there's a chip for active signal conversion. I'm only taking this note because it was a little warmer than another converter I tested. However the metallic case should dissipate the heat efficiently. I'd guess the temperature was 30-35°C (ambient 23°C).I feel sorry for writing a bad first review, but it cannot work for me. I'll return it.---Technical details:xrandr on Linux DID NOT report any EDID info when this converter was connected. Unsuprisingly, physical dimensions were also reported as 0x0mm. This is the most likely reason I was not allowed to go above 1024x768 in resolution. Technically, I could force my own settings and test 1080p60 output... there're two but's. On one hand, the audio output was already unacceptably noisy. On the other hand, a device like this should just work. If I were to give a presentation or use someone else's laptop, I won't have time to fiddle with a manual configuration.I did not test on a newer hardware or a Windows laptop, so not all dust is settled. After all, maybe it's just my ancient hardware.
