I definetly received a fake product but the letters on it are all blur (very different from the picture) and the packaging is also slightly off. Furthermore it didn't dye my synthetics only naturals although i followed the instructions down to the letter. So I think they just gave me the regular pink dye in a recycled bottle or a fake one.

Just put it in some water in a pan with the stove on low. Turning with tongs about every fives minutes for half an hour. Then rinsed in stainless steel sink. Do not walk with rest of clothes for a lot of washes, if ever!

I bought this to colour my child's sheet set, and per usual I didn't read the instructions ahead of ordering it because how hard can it be, right? So you need about 3 gallons water per pound of fabric, and I'm colouring 2 pounds of sheets, so *counting on fingers, carry the 1* that's 6 gallons. But not just any water, BOILING HOT water. My friends, I do not own a stainless pot that can hold 6 gallons of water to boil upon the stove, nor could I find one to buy, and even if I could it would have cost hundreds of dollars because do you know how freaking expensive stainless stock pots are?? So I did what I do in all areas of my life, and I improvised. Now I shall bestow upon you the knowledge for creating your very own Rit DyeMore Hot Box (patent pending. Rit is not associated with my shenanigans, nor would they want to be, and no one, including Amazon, Rit, Phoenix Brands, any of their subsidiaries, yo mama -- none of whom I am authorized to speak for -- or myself, are responsible for success, failure, or mortal injury suffered during this activity). Check out my photo, it's pretty self-explanatory of the construction. I also love that hat, boonie cap through Canadian Army Surplus. I've written out the details below anyway because I love you. I mean that.Maybe do this outside. A hot, sunny, summer day on a sloped driveway is ideal. If you're not sweating like Giuliani at a post-election press conference, you're doing it wrong.*Materials*1. Bottle of Rit DyeMore in the colour of your choosing - 1 bottle will colour approx 2 pounds of fabric.2. Lil plastic tote - hard plastic, something that won't melt in boiling water and has enough room to hold all the water, your garment(s), plus some head room for stirring.3. Big plastic tote - at least 2 inches larger on the inside than lil tote, and taller; you'll need room for insulation.4. Insulation - old blankets, dark coloured bath towels, your ex's hoodie; stuff that you won't be sad when it gets stained. Don't use paper or cardboard, it'll get wet and lose its insulation-i-ness.5. Lid - does lil tote haz lid? If not, a cookie sheet larger than the top of lil tote works, but maybe wrap it well in a couple layers of foil if you want to be able to bake with it again. No one want's your Rit dye cookies. I'm looking at you, Marsha. Lid must be non-porous and non-melty.6. Stirring utensil - you can do what I did and grab a broken stick at the last minute and hope it doesn't gouge holes in your kid's new sheets, but I wouldn't recommend it (spoiler alert - they survived, so clearly the sheets are made of elven armour and protected by the grace of my poor overworked ancestors).7. Grabber - waterproof oven mitt (silicone is good), or, I don't know, tongs or something.8. Rinsing mat - a clean tarp, shower curtain, or rug that you also want to turn the same colour (pre-soaked and warmed in the sun for best colour absorption). Must withstand hotness, wetness, and not blow away in the wind (why do we keep talking about your ex?)9. Rinsing plan - hose, buckets, a helpful elephant... you do you.10. Dish soap - almost forgot.*Directions*1. Build a nest - put a layer of insulation at the bottom of the big tote, place lil tote inside and center it, smoosh insulation in between the totes. Make sure the lid sets level on lil tote without letting too much steam escape. We're gonna clam bake this mutha.2. Boil the water - all the water. 3 gallons per pound of fabric. On your stovetop or in your kettle or wherever you usually boil water. I'll let you work out the details. I believe in you!3. Pour the water into the Hot Box - with each boiling pot, use your waterproof mitt or tongs to remove and replace the lid, then cover the lid with insulation. Many trips. Back and forth you go, where boiling water will spill no one knows.4. Squirt squirt - somewhere between hot-water-pours, add a teaspoon or 2 of dish soap to your Hot Box because that's what the bottle says to do.5. Soak your garment(s) - also somewhere between hot water pours, place your garment(s) in the Hot Box, realize you forgot to bring something to stir with, look around and grab a jagged stick, then use it to push all the fabric under the water. Cover, insulate, you know the drill.6. Add Rit DyeMore colour - After your last pour, which should cover all the fabric by at least an inch over the top, pour in the colour. Try to pour in an area of the water where it won't go directly on the fabric; we're making a pigment soup for an even dye job. Stir. Cover. (obvs)7. Wait. Uncover. Stir. Cover. Repeat. - every 5 min or so for 30-60 min.8. Drag - to the rinse area that you set up too far away, and lift/tip (lift with your legs and tip away from your body... no one's going to the ER on my watch) lil tote out of the big tote, splashing wet colourful fabric onto your rinsing mat.9. Rinse - pour water on and through, flipping over, wringing out... you know how to rinse. Just try to get your water to run as clear as possible. Use gloves if you're not a fan of wearing the dye, but I felt the Super Pink added a lovely blush to my fingertips.10. Wash and dry per garment instructions.Boom. HOT BOX DYE JOB. You're welcome ;)
