Others have mentioned that the carbon fibre bar is easily scratched during installation - and that's true, but with care, this can be avoided. This is what I did (and I'm not suggesting you do the same, but it worked for me): I tried inserting the bar through the hole in one of the supports before attaching the supports to the handle bars and found immediately that the fit was too tight. Having removed the rod clamping screws completely, I used a large flat bladed screwdriver to fractionally prise apart the opening. This was done very carefully with minimal force as the opening only needed to be increased by about 0.5mm.I then sprayed a lubricant onto the bar and pushed it SLOWLY through the hole in one of the mounting brackets without resistance. I then repeated this with the second mounting bracket, inserted the bolts and very lightly tightened them once the bar was evenly spaced between the mounting brackets.All of this was done before mounting the unit onto the handlebars.I then placed the supplied spacers onto the handlebars, located the support brackets over them and with the entire unit placed where I wanted it to be, inserted the bolts and tightened them very lightly.It is important to hold the spacers (if used) in place when lightly tightening the clamping bolts on the handlebar because if they are not centrally placed within the clamp, they can be squeezed off to one side.Once happy with the overall position and angle of everything, I evenly tightened all the bolts, cleaned off any residual lubricant from the carbon fibre bar and mounted my chosen hardware.Just take your time and don't nip the bolts up tight until you have everything where you want it to be.Again, this is what worked for me and I am not suggesting you do the same.Wishing you all happy and safe cycling!
