As quilling boards go, this is one of my favourites. The pegs go in very easily, and stay in when you remove the work. I especially love that it has a drawer, as pegs are prone to going missing! A must-have for anyone trying out quilling!

This is a neat little grid designed to be used for guiding paper strips to form pretty shapes for quilling designs. I was puzzled as to why my wife was interested in this product until I realised that she has a project in mind. She plans to use this for a form of quilling using a finely rolled sugar paste so hopes that this tool will hold the shapes until they are dry enough to lift off. For purposes of this review she had a go using paper strips to test the product for its intended purpose.Initially, she was using the grid to simply coax and hold her quilled rolls in place. This meant that she could ensure an even size of quilled shape for her simple flower design. She found that the little pegs fitted securely into the holes in the grid and there is one slotted peg which forms a starting point so that she could feed the quilling paper around the pegs to form a shape. All she needed was a tiny dab of glue to secure the end of the strip. Then she found that the quilled shape could be gently lifted off with a suitable needle tool. Looser and larger shapes proved to be less successful as they tended to lose their definition but the grid was still helpful as a guide. This is a helpful and attractive tool incorporating a neat little storage drawer for the pegs. It is totally customisable, a little fiddly to use and does not include any form of instruction but decent value at a cost of around £3.89 so deserves 4 stars. Obviously you will need suitable quilling paper, glue... and if you are a beginner to the craft of quilling like my wife is, then a few online videos might help to point you in the right direction and show tips about the basic techniques.
