I have not actually used it for stick (MMA) welding, but I have successfully DC(!) TIG welded with these as filler, and I have also gas welded. And not even with proper oxy-acetylene but rather oxy-propylene!Not pretty as AC TIG but very functional and a great way to fix a breakdown without having a AC-TIG. A great trick to have in the weld bucket.The thing is that the flux breaks the oxide layer (which is why AC is normally needed) and that’s why you can stick, gas and DC-TIG weld with them. Stick welding is harder than normal steel welding since these rods burns VERY fast.
