Het succes deed snel de ronde en trok als de "British Invasion" op magische wijze andere artiesten en bands aan, zoals Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd en Queen. Jaco Pastorius, The Edge, Oasis, Guthrie Govan, Billy Sheehan, Doug Wimbish en momenteel Michael Amott (Arch Enemy, Carcass) en Mikey Demus (Skindred) kenden en waarderen nog steeds de legendarische Rotosound sound.
Wat begon met snaren voor elektrische basgitaren, breidde zich uit met SWING, JAZZ en SOLO bassnaren, die al stonden voor kwaliteit van wereldklasse toen snaren van andere fabrikanten zich nog in de moeizame ontwikkelingsfase bevonden. After having used strings by 'another famous brand' for decades (i.e. late seventies!), a guy I traded (swapped) guitars with, made me aware of the fact that 'those of the other make' do wander quite a bit around pitch when tuning and indeed I did find the-other-brand-of-strings' rather 'time-consuming' and new ones needing a lot of stretching. So I thought let's try those Rotosound Yellows for a change. They are easy to tune, do not wander around pitch, do not need lots of stretching and stay in tune also when bending and. vibrating a lot (like I do). On my somewhat modified 2005 Gibson Explorer with PAF copies they give me the amount of brightness I always look for and also seem to work well in the 'attack-sustain-decay' criteria. This 3 set + strap box is good value and contains the three sets packed 'per set' together so no more individual 'sachets' per string anymore. The ball ends are color coded so no need to mix up the 'which goes where' . Try 'em!

Rotosound snaren gebruik ik al enkele jaren. Gezien de prijs heb ik nu gekozen voor deze gele verpakking.Voorheen gebruikte ik de rotosound british steels en heb ook de ultramag geprobeerd.Deze Roto Yellows hebben ook een erg mooie eigen klank, de snaren zijn sterk en zijn makkelijk te stemmen! Dat laatste zorgt er voor dat je snel weer kan spelen zonder dat je steeds weer opnieuw hoeft te stemmen.Ik ben blij met deze aankoop.(leuk dat er ook een gitaarband bij zit, deze kan je altijd wel gebruiken of iemand cadeau doen)

I use mainly D'Addario NYXLAnd I gave this a try. Even 2 month old nyxl's have better feeling and sound form brand new rottos.

ダダリオからの転向組です。こちらの方が明らかに耐久性に優れています。錆びつくこともないまま、いいサウンドが長持ちします。音質については好みの問題でしょうが、ロック、ポップであるならオールジャンル大丈夫だと思います。ダダリオのおろしたては中々ですが、そのフレッシュさはあまり持続しません。チューニングについてもこちらの方が安定しています。もちろん主観込みです。ただ、もうダダリオに戻る気はなくなりました。

I heard about these strings from Paul David's YouTube video and I had high expectations... Unfortunately, I was left disappointed. The feel and playability is nothing great, compared to D'addario or Ernie ball and the sound is comparable to a generic set of strings .Then something happened...it started to rust within a couple of hours of playing (see the pictures above). I don't know whether it is because of the humid climate or my sweaty hands. But I have never experienced this with other strings, even the cheaper ones...I don't think it will withstand a even a practice session.Oh well, you live and learn.
