This does work well. However, you have to understand what you are dealing with. If the nails don't have flat heads on them, it will be difficult to rip the nails out. Finish head nails will not just rip out and if they are a decent gauge they will not just cut. Finish head nails will just bend if the material doesn't hold it in place to cut through. I had so many nails to work around trying to strip off old shake siding I ended up getting 14" needle nose pliers that would let me reach up behind the shakes and pluck the nails out. This is a great tool to have in the quiver and I would recommend it. Especially in the right circumstance.

Ok but the handle is a cheap rubber sleeve that slips off in use.Not as good as my prev ripper.

This tool worked really well once I got the knack, I only needed to change 10-15 tiles so I can't comment on long term durability.
